Over the years Colinton has developed a good reputation building bespoke receptions to the plans of architects and designers, mainly through commercial interiors companies but we will also work direct and assist our clients through the whole process from design to manufacture.

Penicuik Reception – An exciting new centre for the local community needed a counter in the reception area that was unique to purpose and built to last as this counter would be visited by thousands who used the centre. We worked to the architects design under the instructions of Barr Construction, who were delighted with the service they received from Colinton. Our team manufactured and installed not only the reception counter but the screens and display cabinets on time and to budget, as always.

Manorlane and King Sturge Receptions – Show an ability to work with new materials such as leather, glass, metal and use accent lighting in bespoke reception work. The end clients had a concept that was worked into a fairly detailed design brief from Park Systems Ltd and fine tuned by our designer. Excellent team work to bring the perfect reception solutions.

Edinburgh Central City Library Counter – This time it was Colinton’s job to produce a bespoke reception design that complimented the existing traditional bookcases and panelling in this historic building but also successfully incorporate today’s technology and DDA requirements. North Berwick Library counter on the other hand is a good example of a modern bespoke counter in a traditional setting on a more restricted budget. It combines lockable filing drawers, cable management and storage systems all to suit the personal requirements of the librarians using it. Good design does not

The Heart of Hawick visitors centre counter was part of an arts & culture led regeneration project, winner of Enterprising Britain 2008, by the Scottish Borders Council. As an element of this, the previously empty shell of Tower Mill was tastefully renovated and the splendidly oak veneered counter installed by Colinton. The overall building design, including the counter, was by Gray, Marshall & Associates and was a finalist in the RIAS best building in Scotland award. The work was brought to Colinton by Lynch McQueen (Interiors) with whom Colinton has worked for many years on a wide range of bespoke reception projects as we always give them happy clients and good workmanship.
